To everyone who says that they can’t sleep on a plane, I have the solution…host a kids’ sleepover the night before. I actually have two days before I’m getting on board, but will probably still be trying to catch up on sleep! Yes, I’m flying the “friendly skies,” solo for the first time in several years. Emotions definitely run the gammet: excited, anxious, ecstatic, and a little sad. I truly believe a break from kids is good for all parents, but at the same time, I do feel like a huge part of me is missing.
Of course I have my plane necessities: book (have you read Gorgeously Green?), Vapur Anti-Bottle (goes through security empty & flat!), Kiwi-Strawberry eco-lips (feels like I’m on vacation before I get there!). and of course a few chocolate squares (almond/cranberry, please!).
Because I’m fortunate to be a guest at someone’s home, I’m bringing a housewarming gift too: an incredible upcycled vase (yes, it’ll go carry-on). I plan to fill it with beautiful flowers there, then, having my crafty Florida friend turn souvenir pages into “forever flowers” to send as another thank you. Though the flowers aren’t on our site yet, they will be early August. You don’t need actual papers, just an idea (favorite novel pages, sheet music, menus, etc.) and she’ll create them for you too!
