Is this really a victory?

You may have read that Tide has agreed to alter its ingredients.

Apparently it took 80,000 petitioning, concerned consumers for them to realize a change was needed.

What was the big fuss? 1,4-Dioxane. Probable carcinogenic, Banned in Europe & Canada, Known respiratory toxin, and has shown occupational hazards for those who handle it. Exactly what I want cleaning my clothes.

Even more frightening, it usually isn’t listed as an “ingredient” because it’s actually created as a manufacturing byproduct. You know those suds you love to see? 1,4-Dioxane.

Yes, Proctor & Gamble has agreed to reformulate their detergent, yet they aren’t eliminating 1,4-dioxane. They are only reducing the quantity to below 25 parts per million in their Original Tide and Tide Free & Gentle. Is that safe enough for you?

If you look on the Environment Working Group website (like skin deep database, only for cleaning products), all of Tide’s detergents earned a D or an F. Multiple ingredients lead to this failing grade.

Forget the guessing games. And absolutely forget the toxins.

Especially since we have Yoreganics Soap Nuts.

Soap Nuts are actually dried fruit berries from the soapberry tree (Sapindus Mukorossi) found in Nepal and India. Its outer shell contains saponin, which creates a natural soap in water. Not only do they eliminate odors from dirty clothes (goodbye sweat-wicking material stink!), they’re also the perfect laundry alternative for those with eczema, allergies, or anyone wanting to avoid harsh detergent chemicals.

Yoreganics Soap Nuts are USDA Certified Organic; they are also hypoallergenic, biodegradable, antimicrobial, economical, vegan, gluten-free, fragrance-free, and cruelty-free.

Many of us are used to our clothes coming out of the dryer with a “fresh clean smell.” Unfortunately, that smell is usually created by synthetic (toxic) fragrances. What will your clothes smell like with soap nuts? Nothing. No magnolias; no summer breeze; just plain unscented. And the gross smell that lingers in anti-wicking fabric? That will be gone too!

Time to give Yoreganics Soap Nuts a try, and leave the chemicals behind. Available in trial size and 80 load bag.
