Meet Gretta: her goats and her goat milk soap

In addition to affordable green products, I love that you’ll always find something unique at Favor the Earth.  The majority of merchandise is made in the US by small companies that not only make cool items, but they’re passionate about what they create.  It’s exciting to hear their stories, and the heart behind their work.  I am thrilled to introduce you to Gretta of Gretta’s  Goats soap. recently met Gretta at a local market.  While there were other vendors with handmade soap, I was drawn to Gretta’s energy and charm…not to mention the incredible smell of her soaps.  Looking closer I realized she makes goat’s milk soap; then I realized she milks her own goats!

Until recently, Gretta (and her goats) leased space on an organic farm.  She fulfilled her dream, though, and now owns her own farm just outside of Rockford, Illinois where they all enjoy 25 acres and an abundance of wildflowers, prairie grasses, and wildlife.

Gretta’s  goats are hand-milked twice a day which provides the base for her artisan, organic soaps.

What’s the benefit of goat’s milk soap?’s gentle for all skin types, even sensitive skin.  Goat’s milk is also close to our body’s natural PH level which helps protect against bacteria.  Goat’s milk is full of essential vitamins & nutrients: B1, B6, B12, C, and E as well as calcium, protein, and potassium to help nourish & moisturize your skin.

Additionally, Gretta’s soap uses only pure essential oils, fresh herbs, and sustainable ingredients.  You won’t find any synthetic fragrances or artificial colors here!
